SEBRING — We all love to hear success stories — about people working hard to get ahead. Well, right here in Highlands County, there’s a story like that. Oscar Jaramillo came from Mexico to Sebring only 11 years ago. From the moment he began as a cook at Jimmy’s Greek-American Grill, people took a liking to him and to his food preparation.

When Jaramillo opened his own restaurant called Chula Vista, about four years ago, customers followed him. Then, about a year and a half ago, he moved to larger quarters in the Village Fountain plaza. He named his new restaurant Oscar’s Family Restaurant. And that’s exactly what it has become, a family restaurant.
