It was a busy opening weekend at the Florida Senior Games being held in St. Petersburg/Clearwater.
Jacques Poitras headed back to his winter home in Sebring Village with a gold medal in singles shuffleboard in the 55 to 59 age group. Jacques was disappointed that there weren’t more competitors and hopes that he’ll have more competition in the Heartland Games For Active Adults which will be held at the Avon Park Seniors Activity Center on Feb. 6. Jacques did find time to play a couple of exhibition games against the oldest shuffler at the Games, a 96-year old who proved to be a challenging competitor.
