High winds are being blamed for a small aircraft that was thrown off course while landing at Venice Municipal Airport. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident, which happened Friday morning.

The occupants of the Mooney Ovation2 were a male student pilot and a female instructor. Neither were identified. Neither were hurt, according to a City of Venice press release, issued Friday afternoon.
