Maris Soule, who spends winters in the Bay Indies community, has won first place in the suspense/thriller category in the annual competition held by the Florida Writers Association.
She received a Royal Palm Literary Award for “Echoes of Terror,” a novel set in Skagway, Alaska, that involves the kidnapping of a billionaire’s teenaged daughter. The small-town detective working on the case discovers that the kidnapper is the same man who, years earlier, kidnapped and sexually assaulted the detective when she was young.
