Vereen accused of assault at theater

Several young actresses in Venice Theatre’s 2015 production of “Hair” have accused Broadway star Ben Vereen, who directed it, of sexually assaulting them.

According to an article that appeared in Friday’s New York Daily News, Vereen’s conduct included unwanted kissing and touching, sexual advances, luring them to the rental house he occupied during his stay in Venice and stripping naked during a rehearsal of the play’s famous nude scene.
