The Venice City Council wants to make sure the city’s new library has “Venice” on the inside as well as the outside of the building — and will pay $100,000 to do it.
That was the size of the contribution suggested last year by Camille Cline, who’s heading up the fundraising campaign for the Friends of the Venice Public Library. She quickly got a consensus among the Council members that they’d put a sponsorship in that amount in the city’s 2018-19 budget, which will go into effect Oct. 1.
