Venice Symphony puts on amazing concert

This Epiphany Cathedral Catholic Council of Women support the Our Lady of Lourdes council fashion show. Epiphany has their Denim and Diamonds fashion show and luncheon on March 21 at Plantation Golf and Country Club. For reservations, call 941-488-6983. The Epiphany Crew are (standing in back) Patty and Heather Sorensen, visiting from Michigan, and (seated from left) Edna Rohan, Lois Carcare, Marie Gibson and Mary Travers. Edna Rohan was happy to have her family from Michigan in town.

The Venice Symphony, under the direction of guest conductor Steven Jarvi, performed music from hit Broadway plays like “South Pacific” and movie favorites like “The Sound of Music,” making their “From Beethoven to Broadway” performance seem like a real pop concert.

The audience loved the music and gave a warm, standing ovation to each of the numbers.
