Hiring process to change after child porn arrest

Following the recent arrest of a Booker High School teacher on child porn charges, Superintendent Todd Bowden addressed Sarasota County Schools hiring policy.

Quentin Peterson was arrested April 24 by Palmetto Police Department for possession of child pornography. Peterson had been hired to teach full time at Booker on Feb. 28, and previously held a position at Manatee County Schools.
