Circus arena lives again, just smaller

Miniature roof trusses are being created by Bill Dovel to support the roof of the miniature replica of the old Venice Circus Arena that once was the winter home to The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Cirucs when it wintered in Venice.

For more than a year, Bill Dovel has been working on one of the key exhibits for the Circus Train Car Museum that will eventually be placed next to the caboose at the Historic Venice Train Depot.

He began by creating 4,500 seats for a miniature of the old Venice Circus Arena, which sadly was torn down two years after heroic efforts to save it failed.
