NORTH PORT — A little over a year ago, Melissa Harris started experiencing fatigue brought on by what she thought was an extended menstrual period — only to eventually discover the bleeding was actually related to uterine cancer.
“I had bleeding, a cough and I was tired all the time,” said the North Port mom of four. “When I first saw the doctor, I was told I was pregnant. I had my tubes tied back in 2003, so I didn’t think that was possible.”
