Stolen copper latest bad news for housing project

Authorities say $51,000 worth of copper tubing and wiring was stolen from this construction site on East Venice Avenue, a low-income housing project by the Venice Housing Authority.

Roughly $51,000 in copper pipe and equipment was stolen from a low income housing project site on Grove Terrace, the mayor told city council members this week.

The theft took place more than a month ago and stalled the project.
