NORTH PORT — Thanks to donations from the community, North Port police will help 61 local children buy gifts for their families — and possibly something special for themselves — this holiday season.

Each student is paired with a NPPD officer as a shopping partner and given a $100 gift card to Walmart during the annual “Shop with a Cop” program.
