The South Venice Beach ferry, pictured here Friday on a return visit to Lemon Bay Drive, is scheduled to be replaced. Local residents are anxious to see the new boat put into service.
Four to six weeks. That’s how long South Venice Beach residents will have to wait until their much anticipated new ferry arrives, according to Sandy McHenry, with the South Venice Beach Endowment Trust.
The old ferry was out of service for a week last month while it underwent a periodic inspection by the Coast Guard, but it’s been back in service for the past two weeks.
