PORT CHARLOTTE — Leonardo Reginatto’s bat played the hero for the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Thursday. Twice.

The first time came when the shortstop looped a single into right-center field, moving the game-winning run to third base in a tie game in the bottom of the ninth inning. The second time came on the same play, when the throw home from Jupiter Hammerheads right fielder Ross Wilson bounced off of Reginatto’s bat near home plate and over the head of catcher Austin Barnes.
