Couple reel in 13.5-foot hammerhead shark

Andrew Herzog and helpers gathered last week at Englewood Beach to reel in a more-than-13-foot hammerhead shark. The shark fought Herzog for 45 minutes before being pulled in and then released back into the water minutes later, after it was tagged to track for marine research.

It gives a whole new meaning to catch and release.

A local couple recently hooked a 13.5-foot great hammerhead shark on Englewood Beach, quickly tagged it with a tracking device, snapped a photo and returned it to the Gulf.
