SMH agrees to withdrawal lawsuit in exchange for ‘cure’ meeting

Flawed paperwork is at the center of a dispute among hospitals that dragged the city of Venice into court.

Sarasota Memorial Hospital agreed this week to back off a lawsuit it filed against the city of Venice. In return, the city agreed to give SMH’s site plan for a new medical center at Laurel Road and Pinebrook Road a “cure” meeting before the city planning commission.
