SARASOTA COUNTY — Voters looking to cast their ballots ahead of the primary election on Aug. 26 will get their chance starting Saturday, when early voting opens for a week-long run.
Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent expects about a 25 percent voter turnout for the primary election, with 60 percent of those voters taking advantage of early voting and absentee ballots. Dent added that her office has sent out 40,308 absentee ballots, and so far, over 12,000 of those ballots have been returned, she said Monday.
