Here in South County, based on recent growth and demand, it appears the public is showing a preference for fresh farm produce purchased from local shops. About to open is the fourth farm produce market within an 8-mile stretch of U.S. 41, the major high-volume traffic route from South Venice to Nokomis.

Demand for “Field to Fork” produce initiated the launch last summer of two farmers markets in the city, and by the end of the year, a Nokomis restaurant opened with a produce stand.
