Although it’s been a long time since Kentucky Military Institute cadets marched in downtown Venice, their presence in Venice for so many years is to be remembered with a historical marker.

The Sarasota Historical Society is installing the marker in Centennial Park, the school’s former parade grounds, directly across from the Venice Centre Mall, also known as the KMI Building. A ceremony celebrating this special event honoring the cadets of KMI takes place Saturday, April 26. at 3 p.m. in the park.
