Not news. Shame on the Gondolier Sun for the so-called news item on the front page about Sharky’s. It’s really like a paid infomercial, so much advertisement. This vote that they got is a joke because I guarantee you that 95 percent of everybody who voted on the Internet hadn’t been to any other of the sports bars on the list. And lastly, everybody locally knows most of us don’t go there. It’s mostly tourists. I’ll leave it at that.

Banana split. It is a shame about a group of about 40 Banana Republicans that have decided to hold the country hostage. A recent Time magazine analysis showed that these party Republicans from the House come from backwater counties in Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Texas, and they do not represent the thinking of the majority of Americans. They represent the thinking of a very small minority of tea party people, and even though they’re in such a minority, can control the potential economic life of this country. The House Republican hardliners lost the battle against Obamacare by a vote in the Congress. It was later approved by the Supreme Court of the United States. There’s something wrong when the majority of the country is being held hostage by this extreme right-wing group. They do not represent my Republican party.
