Same Rules, Bicyclists. Bicyclists should have the same rights as automobile drivers. They should also observe and comply with the same rules. As one who most recently came within inches of being hit from behind on the Legacy Trail by a cyclist who never signaled her approach, I have a special interest in this topic. I have also noticed that cyclists never seem to stop at stop signs, which is dangerous, not only to themselves, but others as well.
Doesn’t Make It True. The Feb. 15 editorial entitled “Liking a lie won’t make it true” certainly applies to the rhetoric of President Obama. For example: to believe additional funding will benefit the war on poverty won’t make it true. To believe mandatory preschool will benefit the education system won’t make it true. To believe amnesty for illegal immigrants will benefit the U.S. economy won’t make it true.
