It was way back in 2008 when Earthjustice won an appeal in a case that dealt with flooding of the Crowley Museum and Nature Center’s property and the Flatford Swamp along the upper Myakka River.
The flooding occurred when vegetable farmers used groundwater to irrigate their fields. The amount of water used was more than needed and it resulted in flooding and waste of a precious resource. A side effect was the killing of thousands of trees downstream.
