The Florida Senate overwhelmingly passed a bill that would legalize a form of medical marijuana known as Charlotte’s Web that has been effective at controlling epileptic seizures. The measure now goes to the House of Representatives, which considered a similar bill that allows doctors to prescribe it for conditions other than epilepsy.
Gov. Rick Scott has indicated support for setting up clinical trials of the drug.
