The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus train arrives in Venice in the 1960s. Beginning in 1967 with the opening of the Intracoastal Waterway, the parade of animals departed from a railroad siding near today's Circus Bridge and then over the bridge to the arena. Before then, the parade went from the Venice Train Depot and west on Venice Avenue before heading over to the arena along the Tamiami Trail.
