Gulf residents seek delay in stormwater project

Some Venice residents are taking matters into their own hands and hiring their own stormwater engineer to find a better solution than pumping stormwater into a detention pond in front of their homes on the beach in Venice.

Neighborhood advocate Bill Williams and around 30 others, including Sun Coast Media Group president David Dunn-Rankin and Mike Pachota, owner of Sharky’s On The Pier Restaurant, were listed as signatures on an email sent to council members this week seeking to delay the project.
