Fire destroys Laurel Road home

Roughly two dozens firefighters were needed to extinguish this early Monday morning fire at 3560 E. Laurel Rd. in Venice. Nobody was hurt, although two puppies were rescued.

Venice firefighters participate in a scheduled training on Tuesday. A house on Mahon Drive in Venice is planned to be demolished soon and that allowed for the opportunity to simulate live training techniques for the firefighters.

An early morning fire destroyed a two-story home on Laurel Road on Monday.

The Venice Fire Department responded to 3560 E. Laurel Road for a structure fire call at 3:18 a.m.
