Tyler Small likes science. He isn’t really sure what he wants to do as a career yet, but the Sarasota Middle School student spent Saturday morning taking water samples from a pond and looking at microscopic organisms that were living in the water.
Tyler was one of 220 area middle school students who were privileged to participate in the third annual STEMsmart Student Summit program at the State College of Florida Venice campus on Saturday. (STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math.)
