People become actors for various reasons. For Julia King, 14, it was a godsend.

“When she was 4 years old, she had a lot of anxiety and was painfully shy,” Alyson King said about her daughter, Julia. “So we put her in acting classes at Venice Theatre (VT), studying with Sandy Davisson and Candace Artim, and it helped her overcome her shyness.”
