Faced with a plague of pond insects, the ponds committee of the Talon Bay subdivision hatched a unique plan — introduce a fish that will eat the pests’ larvae.
Adding the fish is a “very environmental way to get rid of (the insects),” said Talon Bay ponds committee chairman Charlie Harrison. “We had other companies that wanted to come in and spray (pesticides),” but the committee went with one that took a natural approach.
