Ink Spot artist nets 1st place in tattoo competition

The tattoo that won Ink Spot of Venice artist Judd Broome a first-place plaque for large traditional tattoo is of an eagle clawing a snake. The Ink Life Tour competion was held in March in Fort Myers. Since then, Broome has placed in another area contest.

It was the intricate details in the tattoo of an eagle clutching a snake in its talons that the judges liked the best in the large traditional category at the Ink Life Tour. The piece, which took 13 hours to complete, earned local artist Judd Broome first place in the recent competition.

Broome, of North Port, beat 27 other tattoo artists for the first-place plaque and the right to display it where he works at the Ink Spot in Venice.
