Henrietta Kelly Driggers, 84, of Laurel, Fla., died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013.
Henrietta was born April 29, 1929, in South Point, Ohio, to Clarabelle (Walden) and Harvey Lykins. A Venice resident since 1964, she was an elementary and middle school teacher for 31-plus years.
Henrietta graduated from Marshall University in Huntington, W.V., with a bachelor’s degree in education. She later received her master’s degree in education and was an active member of Alpha Delta Kappa Honor Society.
She was a member of the American Sewing Guild (The Sew Chics), a Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church and a member of the Venice Community Center, and was a master of arts and crafts.
She was preceded in death by husbands William C. Kelly and Everett W. Driggers; daughter Janet Sue Kelly; sisters Phyllis, Nancy and Eloise; and brother, Darl.
Survivors include her daughter Jean Driggers Fox (Tom) of Venice, Fla.; sons William M. Kelly (Mary Alice) of Warsaw, Ind., Tim Kelly (Trisha) of Vista, Calif., Bill Driggers (BJ) of Franklin, N.C., Edward Driggers of Sarasota, Fla., and Charles Driggers (Wendy) of Brigham City, Utah; sisters, Clara Roberts of Milton, Fla.; Mary Davis of Lansing, Mich., and Alice Henke of Maryville, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services: Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 20 at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at noon, Monday, Oct. 21, at First Baptist Church,Venice, Fla., followed by a graveside service at Gulf Pines Memorial Park.
