John J. Sharp, 75, of Nokomis, Fla., passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at his home.
Born July 24, 1938, in Holiday, Pa., he was the son of Stewart and Doris (Marble) Sharp. Coming to Florida in 1970, he operated a trucking company. He later served as manager at Venice Tire, in Sarasota, and was a licensed fishing guide, working on Lake Okeechobee.
A member of the Venice Bass Club, he attained the Top 10 Championship several times. John was also a member of the Small Boat Bass Club, and enjoyed hunting and NASCAR.
He was predeceased by his parents and two children. He leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Dolores, of Nokomis, Fla.; children Charles of California, Peggy Sue Albaugh of Alabama and Randy (Justina) of Arcadia, Fla.; stepdaughter Alison (Jeff) Herrmann; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren (including two sets of twins).
