Dorothy Alice Zimmer, 90, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Venice Regional Medical Center with family present.

Dorothy was born in Haverhill, Mass., July 5, 1923, the daughter of William and Marion Smith.

Dorothy was the wife of Andrew Stasiowski for 36 years, and after Andrew passed away she was married to Mike Zimmer for 27 years. He has also passed away.

She is survived by her brother, James Smith, and her sister, Marge Johnson; her two daughters, Rose Mary Crampton and Linda Merrifield Powell; her son, Andrew William Stasiowski, and daughter-in-law, Lillian; her grandchildren, Laurie Sullivan, Michael Ryan, Jeffrey, Joseph, Paula and William Stasiowski and Jeffrey and Jamie Merrifield; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy lived in Lowell, Mass., for many years, then moved to Hudson, N.H. She moved to Venice, Fla., in 1983.

She worked at Sylvania and Raytheon Electronics as an electrical engineer in Massachusetts. After moving to Florida, she was a hospice volunteer for many years, and then volunteered at the Venice Health Park. She was active in the Venice Church of the Nazarene nursing home ministry until her illness.

She enjoyed family, friends, gardening, crafts, puzzles, bingo and lunch at the Senior Friendship Center. She loved the Lord and was a member of Venice Church of the Nazarene.

She will be greatly missed.

Services: There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Venice Church of the Nazarene. 1535 E. Venice Ave., Venice, Fla.
