Retiring in 1986, he moved to Waterford in Venice, Fla., where he resided until 2010. During those years, he was an avid golfer at Waterford Golf Club and Mission Valley Country Club, and a superb bridge player, and participated civic activities such as serving on the Waterford board of directors and fundraising for Venice Little Theatre.
As his health issues became more challenging, he and his wife, Wanda, relocated to a retirement/continuing care community in Houston, Texas.
