Elizabeth F. (Albrecht) Wilson lost her battle with ovarian cancer at the age of 83 on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, in Venice, Fla.

Elizabeth was born Oct. 4, 1930, in Coal City, Ill. She graduated in the class of 1948 from Riverside Brookfield High School in Riverside, Ill., and married classmate Donald Wilson Jan. 27, 1950.

They moved from Illinois to Michigan in 1962, and many of her fondest memories were of the times they spent at their lakefront cottage on Lake Huron before retiring to Venice, Fla., in 1998.  Donald predeceased her on July 7, 2011.

Elizabeth enjoyed traveling, golf, bowling, music and current events. She was an accomplished cook and an avid dog lover and had a passion for Michigan State University sports. She also had been very active in the Red Hat Society as well as numerous investment and social clubs.

Elizabeth is survived by her four children: Kimberlie (Royal) Dusenbery of Vermontville, Mich., Scott (Janice) Wilson of Vacaville, Calif., Janice (Tom) Berger of Tucson, Ariz., and Nathalie (John) Boettcher of Mt. Clemens, Mich. She is also survived by her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services: The family will have a private memorial to celebrate Elizabeth’s life.
