Kimberly Clare Lingard, of Venice, Fla., lost her battle with cancer Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at the age of 58.
She was born in Chicago, Ill., on March 11, 1955 to Janet Herlihy Forsell and Lloyd Elmer Forsell. She grew up in Flossmoor, Ill., and graduated from Homewood Flossmoor High School.
Following graduation, she attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill., and then enjoyed a semester on World Campus Afloat, where she toured the world. It was during that time that she developed her life-long love of travel.
Kim moved to Florida in 1979 and shortly thereafter went to work for AAA in Venice, Fla. She made many dear friends in the community as she helped them plan travel experiences. It wasn’t long after that she met and married the love of her life, her “excellent, strong man,” Kevin Lingard. Kim and Kevin shared over 30 years of friendship, love, laughter and travel.
Kim is survived by her husband, Kevin, of Venice, Fla.; sisters, Sandra Jeleniewski of South Holland, Ill., and Diane Gootee of Venice, Fla.; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marilyn and Walter Lingard of Sarasota, Fla. She is also survived by many, many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers of Tidewell Hospice House in Venice, Fla., Home Instead Senior Care and The Neptune Society for services rendered.
Services: A “bon voyage” for Kim will be held at a later date.
