N. Elizabeth Prough, 87, of Springfield, died at 6:05 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born July 21, 1926 in Old Monroe, Mo. to Morrison and Bess Williams Skinner Sr. She married Howard Spencer Prough on Oct. 18, 1945. Her husband, Spence, and her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Beth (Less) Boucher of Springfield and Amy (Dan) Stumpfl of Franklin, TN; two grandchildren, David and Sean Stumpfl; and one brother, Morrison “Pete” (Bernice) Skinner Jr. of Jerseyville, Ill.
She was a resident of Springfield since 2005 and previously lived in Venice, Fla. for 22 years. Elizabeth was a homemaker and assisted in her husband’s business.
She was of the Presbyterian faith. Elizabeth was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with her friends and neighbors.
Visitation was 10-11 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service was 11 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with the Rev. Deacon Martha Bradley officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Kane Cemetery, Kane, Ill.
