Joseph Mango, 76, of Venice, Fla., passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, with his wife and son by his side.
He leaves his loving family: wife, Susan (Latore) Mango, of 35 years; son Joseph D. Mango; and stepson Christopher A. Chill. He was preceded in his death by parents Emilio and Giulia Mango and brother Rocco Mango.
Joseph was born in Colobraro, Italy, Sept. 25, 1937, and went on to serve two years as a sergeant in the Italian Cavelleria Branch before immigrating to Youngstown, Ohio, in 1958, where he proudly became an American citizen. He worked at General Motors in Lordstown, Ohio, for 30 years and was a union representative.
Joseph loved traveling, cooking Italian specialties, watching Ohio sports and helping others. He and his wife retired to Venice, Fla., in 2001.
Joseph will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but will always be cherished and remembered for his generosity, gregarious nature and love for Italy and America.

Services: A Mass and celebration of Joseph’s life will be held Tuesday, April 1, at 11 a.m. at Epiphany Cathedral, Venice, Fla.
