Joseph “Joe” Orost, 91, of Nokomis, Fla., and Johnson, Vt., died Thursday, April 10, 2014.
Joe was born on May 4, 1922, in Bertha Hill, W.V. He was a telecommunications engineer for Bell Labs in Holmdel, N.J., for 35 years. He enjoyed gardening, farming, beekeeping, handyman jobs, politics, writing and swimming.
Survivors include his wife, Larraine Orost of Nokomis, Fla.; daughter Pamela Orost of Horn Lake, Miss.; former wife, Jean H. Orost of Flat Rock, N.C.; son Joseph M. Orost of Toms River, N.J.; daughters Jean Tarazewich of Venice, Fla., and Jennifer Glover of West Charleston, Vt.; son Jay Orost of Johnson, Vt.; daughter Janice Bradley of Johnson, Vt; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Joe was predeceased by three sisters, one brother, one grandnephew and one granddaughter.
