Muriel V. Donahue, of Venice, Fla., died Thursday, April 24, 2014.
She was born to Veronica and George Lawson in New Britain, Conn., July 5, 1922. Muriel lived in Venice, Fla., for 12 years. She attended Teachers College of Connecticut, where she met her future husband, Edward F. Donahue, on a blind date. She graduated with an R.N. degree from Grace Hospital in New Haven, Conn. She served in the Cadet Nurses Corps during World War II. Muriel earned an M.A. degree from Montclair State College in New Jersey. She was a nurse and health teacher in Teaneck and Ridgewood, N.J.
Muriel was predeceased by her husband, Edward. Survivors include daughters Mary Ellen O’Rourke (Charles) and Kathryn Connolly (John); and sons Father Michael Donahue and George Lawson Donahue (Karen Wright). She also leaves six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
