Thomas Ray Adams, 86, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Martinsville, Ind., passed away Monday, May 5, 2014.
Thomas was born Sept. 24, 1927, in Franklin, Ind., to Marjorie (Young) and Ray E. Adams. A World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Phi Delta Fraternity, he was the owner of Hopkins and Woods in Martinsville, Ind., for 26 years until he retired in 1995.
Thomas was a member of the Elks Club in Martinsville, Ind., and the art centers in Venice, Sarasota and Englewood, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia Lea (Woods), and son Andrew. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne; daughter, Anne Hurford of Martinsville, Ind.; stepdaughter, Susan Brubeck of Martinsville, Ind.; stepsons, Todd Brubeck of Greenwood, Ind., and Jeffery Brubeck of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; one grandson; six step-grandsons; and several step-great-grandsons.
