David passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born Jan. 13, 1923.
David is survived by Dorothy, his loving wife of 71½ years; his children, David (Christy) DeJohn and Debra Lavin; his grandchildren, Jessie (Alex) Bean, Austin DeJohn, Travis DeJohn, Shannon (Chris) Bell, Michael (John) Lavin and Christopher Lavin; and his great-grandchildren, Zander Bean, Parker Bean and Caitlin Bell. He was a special uncle to Wendy (Bernie) Shields, Sandra (Fran) Stevens, Glenn (Laura) Tetreault and Tami (Jim) Kepner.
He was predeceased by his niece Darlene (Dan) Lobb.
He was a longtime resident of Madison, Conn., where he served as a police commissioner and volunteer firefighter. David was a manager of production engineering at Chesebrough Pond Inc. before retiring to Venice, Fla., in 1983. He was proud to have served in the Army Air Corp during World War II.
Services: A celebration of David’s life will be held on Sunday, May 25, at 2 p.m. at the Curry House, Bay Indies.
