Edward (Ted) Salmons, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Niles, Ohio, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014.
He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, June 10, 1926. At age 17, he joined the Navy and served in World War II on the S.S. Rowe. He then worked on the Erie Lackawanna Railroad as a car inspector until he retired. Ted enjoyed farming and woodworking.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda L. Marstelle,r of Warren, Ohio, and Beverley A. Fach, of North Port, Fla.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two nieces; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne, on Nov. 8, 2009; his son, Teddy, on Sept. 7, 2008; and two sisters, Marge Hall and Venetta Orechoneg.
Services: Memorial services will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date.
