Lillian A. Linke, 96, of Venice, Fla., passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014.
She was born June 14, 1917, in New York City, N.Y. She worked as an executive secretary for Socony Mobil Oil Co. and then with the Pawling Central School in Pawling, N.Y.
Lillian retired in 1977 and moved to Florida that same year from Lagrangeville, N.Y. She settled in the Englewood/Venice, Fla., area in the early 1980s. Lillian was a member of Lakeside Lutheran Church in Venice, Fla. She volunteered at the Senior Friendship Center, where she taught line-dancing as well as at the Englewood Recreation Center and Woodmere Park.
She is survived by her children, Howard C. (Charlotte) Linke of North River, N.Y., and Marilyn (Howard Jr) Mack of Venice, Fla.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Howard Linke, on Dec. 28, 2002.
Services: The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday June 11, at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 1935 South Tamiami Trail, Venice, Fla. The Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Randy Winkel officiating. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Park in Englewood, Fla.
