Greg Fortune, 89, of Venice, Fla., our beloved husband, father and granddad, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, at his home.
Greg was born March 17, 1925, in Lambertville, N.J., the youngest son of 10 children of the late Peter and Barbara (Duffick) Fortune. He proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
Greg was a marketing and sales representative with Colgate and Metal Finish before he changed careers and studied with Wynn Handman in an actors theater group in Manhattan.
After being accepted into the Ford Model and Talent Agency, he modeled and was the actor talent on many commercials for more than 40 years.
How he loved to play the piano and sing popular music, a true baritone! Oh, how we’ll miss his kindness and humor!
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy; daughter Gail, son-in-law Skip and grandchildren Katie, Alex and Sarah, of Pleasantville, N.Y.
Services: A celebration of Greg’s life will be held later this summer. Ewing Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
