Frederick A. Baker, 83, of Englewood, Fla., formerly of Venice, Fla., passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014.
He was born May 12, 1931, in Frankford, Del., and moved to the area in 1973 from Rehoboth Beach, Del. Mr. Baker was the former owner of adult living facilities in Venice, Fla., and Nokomis, Fla., and the former owner of a motel in Delaware. He was a member of Elks and attended Church of Christ Venice.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Colleen; daughter Robin (Wayne) Vowell of Port Charlotte, Fla.; son Brent of Port Charlotte, Fla.; brother Ken of Dagsboro, Del.; granddaughters Amy Vowell of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Colleen Knowles of Frisco, Texas; and four great-grandchildren.
Services: Memorial services will be private. Arrangements are by National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte.
