Law enforcement officials say a 16-year-old is in serious condition after he ran a stop sign, causing a collision in Venice that involved eight people in two vehicles.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, the Englewood teen, whose name isn’t being disclosed because he is a minor, was driving a Ford Ranger pickup with three passengers (all 16 or 17 years of age) when it ran a stop sign at Tarpon Road and Flamingo Road around 8 p.m. on Saturday (May 10).
