Indians’ flurry extinguishes Bobcats’ lead

First, the good news for the North Port girls soccer team. After being shut out in their first two games, the Bobcats finally got on the scoreboard when Aleena Purvis took a pass from fellow freshman Emily Idoyaga and beat Venice goalkeeper Ashton Pennel for a 1-0 lead 19 minutes into their Class 4A-District 11 matchup this week against the Indians.

The bad news was that the goal only seemed to inspire the Indians, who scored three times in the next six minutes, and went on to defeat North Port, 3-1.
