Venice wins back-to-back regional titles

Heading into Friday night’s Region 7A-3 championship game against Tampa Bay Tech, the Venice Indians had claimed four regional titles in their long history.

But none of those titles have come in back-to-back seasons. The Indians, who won the regional title a year ago, were able to rewrite a little of their history after a 48-17 victory over the Titans gave Venice its second straight regional championship and has the Indians two wins away from a state title.
