PUNTA GORDA — A game that looked like a blowout early on turned extremely stressful for Venice down the stretch of Thursday night’s district match against Charlotte.

The Indians nearly blew a three-goal lead but held off a late charge by the Tarpons to escape with a 3-2 road win in District 4A-11 action. Drue Streich scored twice for Venice while teammate Aron Smith had another goal and an assist.
